Maybe if you put a pin at the base of the actuator then ran a cable around a small pulley that allows you to pull the pin out then ran it out to the battery area kind of like a hood latch. Lol. I may look into that. Nothing like over thinking things.

If it is just a dead battery...plug a portable jumper (booster) battery to the cigarette lighter and the hatch should work.
