Pick up can go on either side, I bought mine like this and as you can tell there isn't much room next to K Plane and Stringer. I would remove the floor board next to the engine and get your tape measure ready. Good Luck!

Thats about where i figured just checkin with fellow heat owners how far below hull did you leave pickup 3/8 or so? I m putting in a 496 w whiple all forged intermals should b close to 700hp also looking for prop recommendation im thinking a 28 hydro p5x and still adding a 1 inch spacer
|
I'm actually in the process of changing out my pick up, its non adjustable and way too deep. There is another guy on here that runs a Whipple, even (flush) with the bottom for his IC. His is on other side.
That prop you mentioned will be close. A 30P Bravo with 1.5's, or a 28P Bravo with 1.36's will put you right in the ball park. |
I have a 1.5 and was thinking about grooving my hull and running flush i may also b putting pickup on port side to a strainer and to my ic
|
Mine goes from where you see it, thru the hull, over to a strainer on the port side, then to the IC, then out the driver side flush fitting. Like I said, this is just the way my pick up was when I bought it. Port side you will have a shorter route probably.
Your set up will put you in the low 80's all day long- |
Ya im going to run pickup strainer ic out above drive for a added cooler low 80s are my goal this summer i just got the boat in august it was running 68 ish with a mildly built 502 mpi
|
I put mine on the port side on the engine side of the stringer. Put a straight edge on the bottom of the hull for a true flush mount. The spray off the bottom of the hull is plenty of flow. No need to notch. I did the adjustable pickup w the partial scoop from cp performance. The only suggestion I have on the pickup is to make sure u get one w an npt fitting so you can thread a shut off valve on it. (Don't forget to leave urself enough room between the stringer and mount so u can thread on the shut off valve after u install the pickup)

Can u post any pics

You can see 1-1/4 hose going to pickup right below exhaust
