Water Heater
Have you had much time on the lake with your new Rage yet? How would you compare it with your previous boat ? I moved up from a 20' Ebbtide and I am very pleased with my Rage. I found that it even throws a better wake for water skiing than my older smaller boat. |
Pictures please...I sure like them Nordics!

ComfortablyNumb: I have not even had it on the water yet. Recently i was in Vegas for a convention and went to Lake Havasu for a few days and stopped by the Nordic factory. Contacted them when i returned for an east coast dealer, called him, put together a seamless deal and picked it up mid november. I cant wait for spring. Prior boat was a 22' Larson with a 7.4L MPI/ Bravo 1 with thru hull. Trying to sell it now.

I did the same thing. I'd been talkin to Nordic for a year about a different boat. Then I took a trip over to the factory from Vegas. Orville took me through the whole place himself and showed me what they had going on. A year later I went back to see the nearly complete 21' Blaze. Decided it was too small and then pulled the trigger on the Rage. I was nervous about buying this boat without a test drive but I'd seen so many good reviews. 2 month's later I drove back to the factory to pick it up. A brief shakedown on Havasu and I new I'd made the right choice. Very happy with the performance and ride of this boat. I bet you will be glad you did also.

Numb, just checked back on this thread. Thanks for the info. Must have been nice to have Orville go through the factory with you? Lonnie wasnt around? Are you running any tabs? I have been up to my indoor heated storage quite a few times getting her outfitted. New lines, anchor, Dana Marine extinguisher, etc. I am having a guy install my swim ladder that i got from Nordic, and he is also installing a depth sounder soon.
I cant wait for spring!!!!!!!! |
Do you guys ski behind your 25 Rages? What is the wake like and with a 496 HO do you run a standard bravo drive without fear of blowing the drive? Just interested as I like the speed and looks of the 25 with the HO. Powerboat mag. says a solid 75 gps. Do you get that? Thanks.

Waterheater,
I don't have tabs on my boat. In the few hours that I've run it I've not had any handling issues. Of course this is only on our smallish "lakes" we have in Colorado. I love the way it rides even in the afternoon chop. My wife got me a new MOMO steering wheel for Christmas which I just installed last Sunday. Next addition is an external ram tie in system for my steering. More power may be in store in the near future but maybe not. Colorado's winter has turned into a below normal snow pack in some areas and the drought may be back big time this summer. If that's the case I'm not going to spend the bucks if it looks like the boat will end up sitting most of the year again. Bouncedcheque, I've skied behind my Rage and I really enjoyed it. My wife pulls me at 32 mph and the wakes were pretty good. I actually think it throws a better wake than my old 20' Ebbtide. It's not a ski boat but I think its pretty decent for water skiing. My wife likes to be pulled at 28 mph and at this speed the boat is starting to settle back down and the wakes come up a bit and are a little steeper. You can see the difference. My boat has run 65 mph (gps). The speedo read 70. Remember, I'm over 5000 feet in altitude. I also put the high altitude (1.65)gear set in the bravo 1x. this is with the 496mag HO. Turning a 24p bravo one I run right into the rev limiter so I should be able to play with a slightly higher pitch. We'll see. I think the HO is shipped with the 1x drive from the factory and at this altitude the power isn't an issue for the drive. |
