Julie told me a while back that the new maximus props did not work nearly as well as the prototypes Merc tested. They did get them to work with a lot of work I believe. I personally love the Hydro P5X props on my 28. Seems like someone tried them on a 35 and weren't happy though. Hard to beat the Bravo props. I just didn't like the excessive slip at lower speeds. The P5X really improves on that when there is a load in the boat.

What type of boats do you sell?

Gary,
I don't have a clue how they work on the 35 but the P5-X with a touch of added cup works wonders on the Heat. They are only 15-1/4".
I'm sure Julie would let you demo a set.
I just demo'd a 29 for Lake Mead which is low elevation for us and it seemed to be a bit more prop than my stock 30 bravo. Top end was better with the 29 as was cruise and obviously planing. I still think a 28 pitch with some cup would work better on my setup although the 29 did run ~3 mph faster than the 30 Bravo.
The Heat is a different animal though; The 35 may not respond as well.
Just never know til you try I suppose.

My Best results with 35 Flame:
496 HO - 29 Labbed Bravo's = 82MPH
500EFI - 30 Labbed Bravo's = 88MPH
525EFI - 32 Labbed Bravo's = 91MPH

Gary, who does your lab finishing?
Also the P5-X definitely lifts the bow. I'd be real curious to see how they would work. Might be hard to improve on those numbers though
Hey RV, let's get those 496s going

Dave,
It looks by Gary's numbers that there is more in our boat. I would like to see his 29's on ours to see if we can duplicate the 82mph. That would be great. Also, those P5-x's sound like a good test. It never hurts to have good cruise speed/efficiency.
You better hurry, they are filling up the floor in the shed. We will not be able to get the boat out after a few more days!
