Indy, the issues I had with the 28 most people would probably not really notice. I'm in the boat business and drive many boats. I love my Heat but the one aspect I didn't like was the very large amount of low speed prop slip these boats exhibited. Especially the open bow version when there is a lot of weight in the front. I like to be able to cruise at around 30 MPH. With some weight in the boat it just wouldn't do it. With the P5X it will hold a good plane with reasonable prop slip all the way down to 20 MPH. You can even pull a tuber and turn sharp low speed turns. It would never do that with a Bravo 1 prop. My boat has an ITS drive so it may have a little more prop slip than the normal set up. Nordic Heat had similar results with the P5X also. My boat originally had a 496 Mag and I ran a 26" Bravo 1 prop. It came with a 24" but it just turned too many RPM at cruise. It would spin the 26" at 4600 RPM @ 61 MPH. I replaced the 496 with a 600HP/555. It turned the same 26" prop 5700 RPM @ 76 MPH. Obviously the cruise characteristics were the same with either engine. I currently use a 25" P5X. It turns about 100 RPM less than the Bravo at the same speed @ WOT. It's cruise and low speed where the P5X works so much better.
