The 35 loves trim, run your trim out to 61/2 - 7 and tab down slightly north of level. If you have a digital GPS you can test your setting by watching the GPS as you adjust. As Linnie found out the boat speed will increase with some tab. I always run the front (center) gas tank full and side tanks empty as this too seems to help weigh balance. Good luck, when your ready for a new 04 0r 05 I'm your man. Nordic Gary |
Re: 500 EFI Power Increase
Linnie,
If you have a print out of the numbers, try finding your absolute peak torque rpm and prop for 1250 rpm above that. This will unload the prop torque and should generate the best overall speed. It's hard to tell on the graph  Gary, A little tab for speed? Is there a tab number setting? I'm headed out right now and will give that a try. In my eperienced 2 hours of time :p I haven't even hit the tab switch :D Going to take some time I suppose. Another interesting find, we pulled the turbulators out on my friends Rage with 496HO and picked up about 150 rpm. I drove that boat for 30 minutes at 60-70 mph pulling him behind it. He's practicing for this years Catalina where next year may be the Flame will be doing the work :drink: |

Re: 500 EFI Power Increase
Gary on my Dyno sheet the peekTQ was with in 9 ftpds from 3900-4400 and the HP was still climbing at 6200rpm.So far I have ran it up to 6000. I wonder if I prop it up some if the speed will pick up .But its still making power at 6200?

Re: 500 EFI Power Increase
Rob,
It may be worth a call to Hydro or Julie at ThrottleUp. They are very good at sharing their info and they certainly have a long list of case histories. I'm thinking it might have to do with where the torque may be falling off. Just a guess though. Dave |

Rob Even though the dyno sheet shows it still making hp, once the torque starts falling off the the engine can not shove the boat through the water anymore. The faster you go, the more drag you have, and the more Torque you need. What props and gears do you have in those BMAx? |
