Even though the dyno sheet shows it still making hp, once the torque starts falling off the the engine can not shove the boat through the water anymore. The faster you go, the more drag you have, and the more Torque you need. What props and gears do you have in those BMAx? thanks Rob :drink: |
Re: 500 EFI Power Increase
Rob,
I really like that new avator you have. Have you run any slip numbers? 6000 @ 1.30 @ 28= 122.38 MPH without slip. Asuuming 12% you shuld be 107.7MPH 14% 105.25 16% 102.8 18% 100.35 You will have to stop to let me catch up, or do as Mike does, start 10 minutes after we leave. |

Yea we allways hurry up and wait .We can drink more beer by waiting. I gpsed it at 99.6 at 5700-5800. It has more slip than I like :( . Also one motor is diff on the rpm but the dyno sheets where real close . I think its in the prop .Still testing :drink: looking for some stock 30's to get worked Linnie you got yours in yet??????? |
Re: 500 EFI Power Increase
Got the motor in last night. Hope to be out Sunday if weather permits.
While the motor was out I installed my Air Conditioner. I installed a 10K BTU Cabin Mate system. I have all electrical, water, & ducts installed right to the unit. Just need to hook all this up to the unit. I installed a shelf under the unit under the V berth so I still can have limited long storage under the unit. It is a SOB to install a AC unit. I did it right with flex metal duct, insulated, three discharges in three spots on the cabin. Had to pull out most of the interior in the cabin to get that all in. I bet I will have 40 hours in that project. I did most everthing twice as I looked at it, did not like the outcome and cleaned it up. Even the stuff that was hidden. I would not get labbed 30's with your HP. The new guy at Mercury tells me labbed props were not designed for over 600HP. Everytime Mike tried them he bends the blades over. Mercury has started to rate there props with HP ratings now. Something new. |
Re: 500 EFI Power Increase
Linnie did ya take any picture of the ac install .Id like to see.
Thats weird about the props ? I guess i could get them to make sure there matched and not thin the blades so much? Thanks Rob :drink: |
Re: 500 EFI Power Increase
No I did not take pictures but I plan to recreate them with drawings. I started another thread last winter that was meant to be but we ended up parting too much. I am going to bring that back up.
