Dave,
Nothing a couple of those Viper/Ilmore's won't correct :D .
I'm not sure that they are cost effective horsepower, but they sure are sexy looking down in the engine compartment.

Steve

You are aware of who Arron at Absolute marine is???????
Its Lonnie`s Son from Nordic ..I was at Arron`s shop when I was at Havasu last.Asking him about the Raylar kit....He had just gotten 2 kits in that same day I was there he opened up the boxes and let me take a peak at all the goodies.....The Kit looks awesome but what do I know about that........

Yes I am aware. I was down there two weeks ago and was talking to he and Lonnie at his shop. I saw the kit as well and he had a motor in the back that was in the process. Talked to him today and my kit should be in sometime next week. I will make the short drive down there as soon as he has it and drop off the boat. Should be a fun summer. even better next Summer when I pick up a FLAME! :drink: . and yes mead is up. went out a few weeks ago and it seemed to be up about 8-10 ft. ( just my guess) still lots off water to boat on

It's probably even closer than you calculate. My 625HP is flywheel HP on a dyno with dry headers. Add wet boat headers and measure at the prop and I'm probably not making much, if any, more power than the 575! Merc always underrates their engines too.

Your #s: 375HP = 61MPH; 625HP = 75MPH, for a 14MPH increase. 625HP - 375HP = 250HP -: 14MPH = 17.8HP per MPH
My #s: 550(propshaft)HP = 76MPH; 700HP = 85MPH, for a 9MPH increase. 700HP - 550HP = 150HP -: 9MPH = 16.7HP per MPH
Actually, my HP #s are an educated estimate, based stock horsepower and modifications, since I've never dynoed my motor. If I correlate my #s against yours (1 MPH increase requires 17.8HP), I'm actually making 735 bobtail/710 propshaft HP. Anyway, there are lot's of variables (load, weather, etc), but I think we are very close to determining that it takes approximately 17HP to increase the speed of a 28' Heat 1 MPH.
It will be interesting to test these #s against your next round of mods............OK, now I'm going math crazy 75 + 15 = 90;
15MPH x 17HP = 255HP + 625HP = 880HP :D ..................
Keep us posted!

Steve

Nice graphics. I bent you can't wait to get the boat. I am anxious to get to use mine that I picked up last weekend.

looking good boatingbent. I saw your boat at the factory last week, and took a couple pictures of it, but when I compared to earlier ones you posted it looked like it hadn't changed much. It didn't have the motors, drives, and windsheild then. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Well I ended up picking up our new 28 Heat on Thursday the 12th of May......Had to get it out of the factory on the 12th not on Friday the 13th ..LOL

Anyways We took it out on Lake Havasu and it ran perfect we were able to get 4 hours on the clock before heading back to Minnesota...Kinda Hard to go from 96 Degree weather back to this Crap back here in Minnesota....So far I am at around 6 hours on the clock I would have a lot more if it was not for the weather up here.....Hopefully we will get some more on in the next few weekends then we are off to Table Rock Lake down by Branson Mo for 10 days............Anyways Here are some pictures from Havasu and a few I took along the way home
