I didn't read the whole thread so I don't know if anyones asked this already....but dose anyone know of any decent hotels in the area?

You can try calling the showboat motel, they are right at the event. Unfortunately, I think they might be booked. At very least, they might have other suggestions. Check their link on the club website for the #. senecapowerboats.com

You asked about Motels ----- I am pretty sure the two located right at the event are near (if not already) full. I have a call into the manager of a very nice place just South of there. I am waiting for a call back to discuss pricing for that weekend, so I will reply again shortly with more information.

Here is that hotel info. but they only have (4) "Select" rooms available ...... at $249 a night.
It is about 7 miles South of our event, or 6 miles South of the State boat launch at Severne Point. Here is their website: http://www.glenora.com/

There are some docks available (first come first serve) adjacent to the Ramada, or you might get a slip at the Seneca Lake State Park. This is about a 1 mile walk (thru the park at the North end of the lake) to the Ramada. The phone number at the park is 315-789-2331.

Oh, one other thing ................ there are a boat load of Bed-and-Breakfast places along both sides of the lake (major wine country here) with NYS boat launches all along Seneca Lake as well.


Also, Watkins Glen has a bunch of motels, and public docking, and a public boat launch on the canal ...........

Our event is held at the Showboat Hotel, which is just about in the middle between the North and South ends of the lake.

So there you go .... lots and lots of choices.

Our fearless PREZ took a ride South starting at the Sunoco Station (directly above the Showboat) on Rt. 14 and made these mileage notes:

Cross Roads Diner - diner = 4.6
Glenora Wine Celler / Inn (only 4 very expensive rooms left) = 6.2
??? B&B (PREZ did not catch the name) = 9.4
Golden Knight - motel = 9.8
Cherry Orchard - B&B = 10.8
Chieftan Motel = 11.9
Longhouse - motel= 12.6
Glen Motor Inn = 13.6
Anchor Inn / Tiki Bar - possible overnight docking available = 15.8
Watkins Glen - many motels, and a boat launch, and overnight docking at the Village Marina = 16 miles
