Use that ramp in forked river and run down the inside from there. It's across from barnegat inlet. Run outside if you want. Stop at the dutchman for lunch!

We are down here in Mystic Islands (Exit 58). We use Great Bay Marina at the end of Radio Rd, it's right at the mouth of the bay. Once out of the marina you go straight out across the bay to ICW marker 139 and follow the ICW to AC (keep green on left going South). You are in AC in about 15 - 20 mintues. To drive around to AC it takes us 40 mintues or so, much quicker across the bay. While in ICW stay in markers especially if it is low tide, gets shallow outside the markers. AC has the deck or Hooters at Trump Marina (to the right after your in the harbor). Gardeners Basin has a couple places to eat the Flying Cloud that is right on the water or the Back Bay Ale House (on the left as your coming into the harbor). Across the inlet there is Brigantine Beach you pull your boat right up and they have a big food barge with burgers, dogs, sausage sandwiches, that's a fun place too if you like the beach.

Hope this helps, enjoy!!!

Where in Forked River? Is that Great Bay Marina? Is the ramp long enough to launch a 34' boat?

The Municipal Ramp in Linwood is not very good at all if it is the one at the end of Seaview Avenue (I use to go there with my grandfather with his little 16 foot boot), it's dirt if I remember corretly and you need a parking pass, which you can get if you live in town.

Not in Forked River, Great Bay Marina is in Mystic Islands, down in Little Egg Harbor on the Great Bay. The ramps down here are kind of tight, but we have a 31 sonic which was on a triple axle trailer and we have never had any problems except on a blow out low tide. Ramp fee is $10.00.

Smarty,
Hunster is referring to South Winds Marina ramp in Forked River at the very end of Lacey Rd. East. Lacey Rd is Exit 74 off GSP.

~~edit~~ Also you will pass by Townsend's Marina on Lacey Rd. about <1/4 mile before South Winds which is a good, wide, deep, public ramp $5 ea. use. The owner goes by honor system, you just shove the $5 in a slot in the door ... so even if it's late you're good to go!
