Nice HP brother!! at 6200 rpm your probably making tons of volume and bronze valve guides help out big time.We found,in our cases, under 10-12lbs,made big problems for valves.Average hours were 2 to 3 before turning into shizzle. 20-25 psi is Merc's spec for psi, they sent a service bulletin on this.To be safe we make sure about water psi, under 20 psi we address water pickup issues, over 30 psi we install Merc's water bypass valve.

It probably runs run on the hose, but top end you'll have no volume of water.A transom pickup is a must.I seen dudes hange valves because of not enough volume.Lack of volume seems to leave steam pockets in the motor, mostly in the heads around the exhaust valve guides. You'll need 1" thru hull and water pessure must be 20-25psi at WOT.

Peter, What's up ? ya Merc, likes 20-25 lbs But like u-said volume and flow is of ut-most importance @ higher rpms. see u-this summer J :cool-smiley-011: ps u-online ?
