to be honest with you not a big fan of block island. i do mosy of my boating in the falmouth vineyard sound area. Dont get me wrong i've been to block a bunch of times I'm just more of a Vineyard guy. Newport is bad for the day, but docking down there can get annoying, seems like everything is going private.

Sick, what is " Illuminations". sounds interesting. If anyone is in the buzzads bay area there is a great place for lunch and more importantly THE best frozen mudslide around called the Chart Room, located behind Bassetts Island. It also is called Cataumet marine.

Been to the Chart Room by land, but never by boat.

Great dinner too.

Great place to go by both. I grew up spending summers down there right down the street. Its a great place to go by boat, they don't charge to dock its always first come first serve but they are always very acomodating. Whats the date today? this winter cant end soon enough!

Yeah, pretty familiar with the area myself. Been to New Silver beach area and had a place in Waquoit bay for a while too.

Where do you usually boat from? I'd be launching in Fairhaven to shoot over to the Cape.

Keep my boat at pier 37 in Falmouth harbor. My family has a house in Edgartown on the vineyard so most of my boating is done in the sound. Always in buzzards bay too I have alot of friends that live in the Wareham area. Were do you launch in Fairhaven?

Illumiations is a fireworks fest on The Vineyerd. The light all the ginerbread houses up with lanters of fire on the ground you you can walk threw them. Then there is a fireworks fest on the frieday night. Its a water and land firework its awsome.

My father used to keep a boat at Pier 37. I know it well.

The ramp I use in Fairhaven is just behind West Island.

There might be a poker run/fun run from that area this year. I think the details are still being worked out.
