The water is about a foot deep in there. All rock.
And way out of the channel. Must have been drunker
than hell....or really unfamilier with their surroundings.

Tad to port and he might have made it over. Instead, looks like he came to a rather abrupt stop. OUCH!

Still there this morning, Would like to see how it will be removed. Amazing enough not being able to look real closely it doesn't look to bad. The drives don't look to damaged, but there some nice gashes in the hull.
Google the poststar news paper for details.

Wow, how do you miss that? Sounds like the driver was so drunk that they saw two of the islands and tried to split them. I guess the speed limit at night won't be lifted anytime soon.

I could see someone running aground in the narrows even sober, It get pitch black up there at night with no home around to light the shore.

But in the area of this grounding they should have seen that island a mile away. The Harris Bay Marina is well lite at night and plenty of homes along the shore that would luminate that island.

We were sitting on our boathouse deck at that night and we could hear it coming. One can get around the west side of that island. There is several small islands between use and the large island.
Well here the picture of this afternoon, not the best quality, sorry. The short trip from the island to Harris Bay Marina she took on a lot of water. The one picture is the bilge pumping out.
