ReggieRaft 06-05-2008 06:49 PM

I'am going. Plan on running the boat down from Haverstraw on friday afternoon . You get a slip with your entry. Let me know if you want to cruse down together.

I'm pretty sure the run is next Saturday . It is a little early for a prediction but the 10 day is calling for mid 80's with a possible rain storm in afternoon. Shame you cant make it.

I would definately like to take a run down Friday are you staying overnight or coming back Saturday morning.

Big Time 06-05-2008 08:42 PM

I'm going to be there...boatless, but I will be there.

I'm actually probably going to be running in my dad's Progression with him. Not really sure how big the turnout is going to be this year, hopefully there are a bunch of people that are going to register late this year.

I'll keep an eye out for all of your boats.

jeff32 06-05-2008 08:48 PM

Ven If you wake up saturday morning wondering what should I do today then shoot up the coast to Liberty Landing. When you walk around the docks seeing the other boats getting ready to go I'll bet you go register and run the river. And the run is further up the river this year. A great change of scenery north of Haverstraw.

ReggieRaft 06-05-2008 10:24 PM

I heard that the cat kiiler was purchased by a dealer in ct. And they are going to run it at NYC with Reggie himself coming to the run. But I also hear that OL is not bring anything big.I hope they do because what could be better than a good gun fight? That all black OL at last years run was the badest looking boat. It was fun runing next to it while I could.

My Dads boat is the New card stop in front of Peekskill waterfront . Here is a pic of his boat so you know what to look for .I'm sure he will have some flags on it so it will be easy to find.

J.B. Marshall 06-06-2008 06:06 AM

Live wire, were is the best location to view the action as the boats come by and not to be in the way?
Do they shut down the area like they did for the races in the past?

As a long time spectator this is probally the only Question I can answer about the poker run.

I think the Best spot is about a 1/2 mile south of the Tappan Zee Bridge. The Cats are pretty much aired out and haulin by then.Stay to the west side of the river.

98itrwhite 06-06-2008 07:06 AM

if the weather is good i will be at the Tappan Zee Bridge

Top Ven 06-06-2008 07:10 AM

We are going to Maryland today for the Thunder on the BAY, we might do the A/C run in NJ , NYC might be bit much

Mahopac Marine set it up and my dad is really excited about it . They are giving him a video camera to record everyone coming in for cards for footage in the 2008 NYC Poker run video.

Yup, BoatShowDirect.net (out of Stratford) bought the boat and it will be at the run. Talked to Tuna over there who told me that he is bringing a couple of big fountains....

Make sure you guys stay west of the security zone in front of the nuke plant (just south of Peekskill Bay).
Kevin, I know your dad from the yacht club, great guy, how did he score the card stop?
Brian

Thanks Brian, Your right he is a great guy. Charlie from Mahopac marine is a local sponsor for the event and thought he might be interested.
I'll have my dad introduce us next time I'm down at the club.

We have given them a call and they are aware of the boats coming by that day.
Otherwise, they will be heading out after us with the .50cals
