Otis,
Would you please pm me your phone number? I'd like to talk to you about what would be required to put on a run for Columbus Day weekend 2009. I've got a not-for-profit who is interested.
Thanks
Norm

1. Go to the LGPC and seek permission
2. File for a permit with the State
3. put together a detailed plan for the run including all saftey measures and have it approved and signed off by LGPC
4. Meet with the Mayor of LG and file for permit to rent the docks and get the street closed
5. start calling around for Insurance for the event
6. Start talking to the local bars to see who will give you the best deal for the awards party
7. meet with the folks at the Fort William Henry and get rooms put aside early !!
8. start looking for sponsors to help defray some of the costs
9. go to LGPC meetings and state why they should approve your permits

Have fun. I hope you have ALOT of time to dedicate to this. I will help you in anyway I can,however... I WILL NOT BE AROUND for the event though. I will be in Vegas

Bob,
Thanks for the info. I'm going to contact the Mayor and the LGPC and see if I can't pull this thing together for Columbus Day weekend, 2009.
I'll give you a call.
Thanks.
Norm
