We will definitely have to talk. The custom kit on my stang accepts up to a 76mm turbo. Currently I am running a 67mm Precision and would like to step up to the larger.
I would also like to get a bigger set of headers on the car. I am told they are on the smaller side and that a larger set would improve the performance.

Header primary size rarely is too small on a turbo set up.

We have seen cars go in the 8's on 15/8 primaries and 2.5 crossover tubes.

The Turbo is the key really and a electronic boost controller can help with quicker spool times,

I like my car lazy its easier on parts so I tune for it.

Still runs 9's so I am happy with that. Where are you located?
Id like to see the car I am in simsbury but can be in bristol , glastonbury etc on any given day.

I would definitely like you to look at it. The car is at my house in Glastonbury 98% of the time. The other two % is when I am working on it and I use my fathers garage in Rocky Hill.

does any body know who in ct is good a installing full roller rockers on vortec heads on a small block chevy and fine tunen it

30ctsutphen 05-26-2010 10:35 PM

That doesnt sound very hard is there something special about the vortec that I dont know about? Installing roller rockers should be simple.

watch for coil bind and make sure the push rods dont contact the push rod tubes. also id look on the net and try and find the piston to valve clearance on one of those engines. One thing to remember witha rocker ratio change is that it will effect LIFT but not duration this can do very very strange things to the intake and exhaust openeing/closing events.

Is it carbed or fuel injected?

Holley?

Let me ask you why you feel it needs to be tuned? Is it just because of the added lift you expect from a rocker swap? thats assuming you are going up in rocker ratio?

Or are you just going to a roller fulcrum for the added safety and fatigue benefits?

If thats the case and the boat is tuned properly now there should be no tuning needed.

I am just crazy busy right now with work or Id be more than happy to help you out should only take an hr or 2 to swap rockers depending on how easy the access to the valve covers.

Theres only one person I trust to touch my Race engines other than myself and hes not a huge fan of working on boats.

Then theres Ocean performance as well as the guy who used to work there who is now down behind the gas station in Oldsaybrook.

Greg fiorelli is a good mechanic too he used to work for old saybrook ford and has an outboard shop next to ocean perf. Thats where I store my boat hes a really good guy and would probably do it for you reasonable. his number is 860-227-2154

he has always been very fair to me and treats his customers very well.
hes not a member of the club yet but likely will be soon.
