Race was called ???
|
Yes the main reason was the turn boats, medic and patrol boats could not be out there. The could not even set the markers the inlet was pretty bad.
|
expensive, did you go out the inlet? i went out and then came back in to the marina and knew it was over, was hoping to catch some boats playing in the inlet. there was no way them boats would be able to run in that. if anything else there was alot of nice boats to look at. maybe next time

That too but did not want the next 20 pages to be ...back in the old days.:drink: But really it was a good call was not worth any one getting hurt over.Still was a nice day |
It aint worth dying over thats for sure.
There will be more races and while it would have made for some killer videos sometimes its better to be safe than sorry. |
Read an article that the Coast Guard was afraid the drivers would lose sight of each other in the swells. Especially if one broke down. Smart move.
They should have had a back up plan, like running in the bay if the ocean was to rough. Only probably with AC is that the back bays are to shallow to run in. IGOR wasn't affecting the intercoastal on the ride home. Down and back was nice flat ride. Anyone remember when they used to have boat races out in Barnegat Bay? I do. I was just a youngin though but I remember them. Can't picture Miss Geico running in Barnegat. You'd have to clear a two mile path for that thing to run. That boat is just sick. |
