I think Richie sutphen would be suprised to hear you think his boats cant compete! I seem to remember TKO kicking some serious AZZ lately! So much so they made him change classes and race against canopy boats with an open cockpit pleasure boat!
Ernie must be slow too then with BOXER another open cockpit pleasure boat that will smack the **** out of most step hulls around and its a single screw! Not to emntion his OLD AZZ 26.

Never lost ANYTHING against that Lumbering Blown BRICK with double the HP and 3 times the bloat! Never really raced it

My brothers step hull fountain has been a great boat its been rock solid so far unlike franks bad dream.

As you know I am a BIG fan of OL's I was just going after some Intel after Moby let the cat out of the bag!

BTW, the OL factory is also VERY busy. The big boats are moving!

It really doesnt matter to me how fast my boat is your boat is etc. There is ALWAYS someone whos going to go faster, or quicker tomorrow. Its a losing battle.

I am perfectly happy with My boats MPH which so far when I have run it is 78 Its been told to me by many that the boat has run 82 but I am not interested in sueeking that extra MPh out of it on most days on the water.

Frank has a really nice boat, Nice MPH (who cares ahat it is) And Most importantly hes happy with it. Whats good for him may not be whats good for Scot, or for justin or for mad hatter, The point is be happy with what YOU have!

I like to push peoples buttons sometimes because it gives me an Idea of who they really are and how they handle things! I can tell allot about a person if I push them a little.LOL

My goal while out boating Honestly is to go out enjoy the outdoors and the water, enjoy the company of the people On my boat and the people I see out, And get home safely to my family. Honestly, beyond that none of it really matters.

I could be on a 73 21 ft welcraft nova that we had when i was a kid Id be happy I just like being on the water!

So lets not lose sight of whats really important. I enjoy hanging out with all you guys each one of you brings something different to the club and thats a good thing! I could care less how fast you boat is really! You could be on a 36 ft cabin cruiser with deisels It wouldnt make me like any of you, any more or less and the same goes for a 150 MPH race boat!

Why do I like sutphens so much, Heritage, Knowledge, Integrity!
Richie sutphen doesnt believe in Step hulls he thinks there dangerous, He could have easily jumped on the step hull train and probably gained a few MPH but he will not compromise safety as he sees it! I like that about him. He could make more money building a step hull version I am sure, He could probably win more calm water races with a step hull version, but he doesnt believe its right so he doesnt build it!

Right or wrong, for better or for worse they do what they feel is right for thier owners, for that I give the sutphens ALLOT of credit! Thats why I own a sutphen!

A few mph out of a stepped hull?

The right step design there is more than a few mph....try 20-25 to comparable power.. and weight if setup correctly.

I'm sick of hearing about the floating bathtub, Richie Sutphen apparently didn't believe in styling either...as they remind me of 70s shag carpet. Sure everyone loves it....but it's rarely seen, except in town dumps and salvage yards and in the possession of people who don't have a fully functioning brain (kooks, crazies..charlie manson) ....it has it's time and place....locked away in the bowels of history haha I already know I'm going to get so much $hit for this...lol
