Sick let's see some in the water pics of that boat! How is it running?
|
Jeff, Thanks so much for inviting me along at the last minute with
your brother, his son and Mike. I really had the time of my life! To say I'm impressed with your boat is an understatement. I'm amazed how fast it really is considering you had more throttle to go. Those 300's are awsome! Can't get over how many times we came out of the water. I'd also like to thank Mike and his dad for hosting a real class act event. I think everyone had a great time and also a contribution for a good cause. My best to all, George. |
Im guessing he didn't get the message jeff, I was hoping someone got him some cuz the the 25s were going on my boat and i'm now sure I need them, 4 guys 3 full coolers, full of fuel pulling 5200 in a little chop, i'll worry about that after mike and I put a crank and rods in one motor.....wtf
|
Some nice boats.
nice to put some faces with some names. Good people & good times!! And $500 MD |

Sick as for the banana hamock guys I didnt say it wasnt funny, I said it was GAY! LOL I guess you guys are a little DIFfEreNt in you area.LOL It was a great day lots of fun, I didnt get home until 3:30 AM seems like PAT, CRAZY FRAN SCOT, BRIAN etc all had a great time at the run. I didnt really see much of Pete Atkin but Im sure he had fun. I know Mike telow had a great time as well. All in all the I think CPBA crew really enjoyed the event I had quite an interesting day. I didn't really know what to expect at the start, but I wasn't expecting it to start so soon. I was in that back of the pack, facing the wrong way when I heard everyone hammer down. I got on plane and ran it hard for 7 miles, passing about 15 boats. I was right behind Jeff, when...BOOM!...a noise like I have never heard came from the motor and the smartcraft started alarming. I pulled off plane and opened the hatch expecting to find a disaster, but nothing seemed wrong and the alarms stopped. Thanks to the guys in the Formula who stopped to check on us...I think you are on the board. And thanks to OCD and Slboatdrinks for checking up on me as well. I was gonna head back to fall river but slboatdrinks convinced me to run it. I did..at 4000-4200 RPM for the rest of the day without any problems but my oil pressure is low. The scan tomorrow will let us know what went BOOM. I skipped some of the stops to "keep the mileage down." All in all, a great run at a great price. I will be back next year. Nice to meet a bunch of the cpba guys - innerage, jeff, scot, sick, etc... |
Glad to hear ya'll had so much fun! Sick, how'd the boat run, you ghet any props to try yet?

Sounded like there was quite a bit of carnage one of the guys who ran with us got put in the back near nopper and I and they told him to spin his boat around, They told me too also. He got sideways put it in gear and clank clunk cluk all you heard was props on rocks! Thank god I decided not to try and spin my boat around, though I did get a chip in the back of my strake in there, Rediculous putting boats back there. I dont think they knew it was that shallow in there or they probably wouldnt have put us back there.:bigbird: How did Ernie make out at the end anyone know? |
I overheard that one of the Cig bullets cooked a motor near the end of the run as well.

OK I guess I will be the FIRST to say what EVERYONE else was thinking and saying at the RUN, this was THE GAYEST Poker Run Ive ever seen.LOL
I dont know WTF "SPEEDO guys" were all about if it was a charity thing or what, but DAMN you couldnt find some fine women to do that instead! I have nothing against gay people so this next statement shouldt be seen as dorogitory, but that was as GAY or GAYER than the NY city GAY parade! Even the COPS were giving them crap at the end of the run.LOL they even had some hotties on the boat with them couldnt they be talked into that instead!:party-smiley-004: I call for a BAN on SPEEDO GUYS at next years event! Stop the MADNESS!:drink: I know those kids, and can say, they are a good group.Always bring the laughs. They are fresh out of school, work hard, and don't cause any trouble.Pool there money together so they can do this stuff. The thongs were not my thing. But it was pretty funny.Mike brought them in the bar,and the ended up raising over $1000 more for the charity. Spoke with Mike late that night, and he said they raised over $8000 total. In my opinion it would have been nice to see the poker hand winners give the prize money back, but all was good anyways. |
Well, just got back from FR, boat's all set, ran beautiful minus the draining of the batteries from the Knot-Right/Team Liquidator dance party that took place Saturday night haha...
It was a real pleasure to see great people again, Mike was fantastic, Gerry, Brenda, Sick, Inner, Christine, Marissa, Scott (I PICK THINGS UP I PUT THEM DOWN) and everyone else involved. Truly a class act, this was how poker runs should be run. Ran flawless and had a absolutely epic time with everyone. I will be a participant for every run in the future. Cheers! |
jeff ernie in boxer at the end broke , got towed in by mike ds friend that had the red white and blue sutphen sun pad , and one of the nopper race guys young one fell off the side at the town dock and me and another guy from ernies boat ended up pulling himout of the water, talk about in a instead things happen, just glads he was alright and we were all laughing at the end:drink:

Big thanks to Dan and Ken for letting me ride along this year. The boat is just beautiful !!! And that boy knows how to run it too.
I told them that I thought this will start a new trend, away from the splashy paint jobs of the last few years. It just has a quiet class about it.....plus it was also first boat to the bridge..... running in triple digits. Notice Sean in photo one....trying to explain how he didn't really try to jump them at the start......Sean your boat looked great too. Last leg out of Bristol back to Fall River, three Ilmor boats running together was pretty neat. Mike on the new 43, a Skater cat and this boat.....made the crowds stop and think for a minute. Great day, nice run, good people all around. Thank you again. |

It was great seeing boats from all over New England at the poker run. Mike, you put on a great event again. Many thanks. I lost a water pickup and fried a water pump. Hopefully I caught it in time.We have to start planning a Fall run in Conn., Jeff. ERNIE
No but seriously, I hope when we do put the run on all the guys from RI and Mass will come down to CT, and Don't forget about the swap meet sounds like a few guys will have some spare parts laying around after this run. Id like to see EVEN MORE sutphens down in CT in the fall than we had at this event. |

im kicking myself now that we didnt do this run but we didnt have a truck to use (dad was using it for his boat). next year we will be there 100%.
|
I just wanted to say thank you so much to Mike for putting on a fantastic event!!! Everything about this event was so well done, from the organization to the incredible hospitality and plentiful buffet!
About the only two things I might suggest for next year would be 1) get some poles to hand the cards out so boaters dont have to get so close at the card stops and 2) maybe have the route go out and around Newport so we we see some rougher water (smaller boats could always opt to stay inside for that stop). Other than that, kudos for a fantastic run! Mike (Sick), thank you very, very much for having us on your boat! The Cafe came out excellent... looks really good, rides great, and once you get the proper wheels on it it will be faster than Jeff's boat! :lolhit: Seriously, thanks again, it's always good to see you and Marrisa! Also, I met a lot of great people at this PR, you couldn't ask for a better group of folks. And the party afterwards... oh boy! :drink: |

Next time you guys should make it a point to attend, it was a fantastic event! |
^^ lack of registration on the trailer and the logistics of getting back to CT by car would have been painful. there is always next year. sounds like you guys had a great time.

that registration says so little on it you would have been fine.
Both my trailer regs say CAMP TRAILER on them for christ sake If you were that close to the run why didnt you just come over and hop on magoo we had room? You know your welcome to ride along |
The trailer I have on my boat rigth now is the first trailer I ever had a proper registration for and it took me two years to get it! I guess I've lucked out by never getting in trouble.
