Both my trailer regs say CAMP TRAILER on them for christ sake

If you were that close to the run why didnt you just come over and hop on magoo we had room?

You know your welcome to ride along

because we had to run all the way back to CT. i knew the run wouldnt be over until at least 6-7 pm and by that time i wouldnt have been able to make the run back home.

this is my dads exact email: haha

I video taped a bunch of the boats coming back North after you left. I think I caught Fran on tape. Easy to tell he had a big gum bubble behind the boat slowing him down.

30ctsutphen 08-15-2011 09:09 AM

Its not reg as a camp trailer?

All my boats and all my race car trailers have all had camp trailer on the reg so far, must just be how they do it certain places although this last one got reg in OS and the rest were in hard hittin new britain so who knows.

that was my first poker run, it was more than i expected... running with soo many big boats, or more like stayin out of the way of u guys was soo fun. I got out to an early start out of newport t so i could see the big boats blow on by my lil Donzi,,, i got totally lost at the start just stayin out of everyones way, the wakes were huge in Mt. Hope bay. I didnt see anyone until i was making my way into the prov. river. Some of u guys cut way in on the rip rap marker for the prov river,,, that water gets real skinny there,,, the outerlimits boat was real close in there, i'm sure they know how shallow it gets there at low tide, (2-3 ft),, Thanks for not running over me and for all your compliments on my Donzi,,, I'll be there next year for sure

I had the best navigator at the run Charlie McCarthy so he told exactly where to go. Not much boat is in the water at 80,90,100.:D The donzi looked great!!

30, mine was the white with red striping,,, i ran pretty well for a 22c, the water did get pretty chopped up on the warwick to newport leg, took some spray in the teeth but it was fun when u guys overtook me on the way to bristol, the jet broke down just ahead of me on that leg of the run, it sounded real funny just before it gave it up,,, deffinately caught some air out there, the boat is new to me this season so i'm still gettin my seat time

What's a trailer reg? I hardly register my boats nevermind the trailers lol, I finally registered the stingray a week before i sold it and registered the formula friday before the run ! All that money could be paying for my crank and rods!& ! Hats off to you guys that ran the smaller boats all I could think during the run was "wow the stingray prob would have capsized or broke in half by now!"

He ran the sh!t out of that little thing! I'm sure Artie will post some pics of him running. He was smart and stayed off to the side and out of the dirty water, but on the leg down to Newport he ended up turning around as conditions gt a little hairy for him. I was still impressed how good he was running. He was cruising at cooking at around 45 mph the entire time, impressive considering the size of his little boat!

There were quite a few smaller boats. In all fairness, the start of the PR and leaving Newport were a little dicy for smaller boats, but over all there was plent of clean water to run in. No reason a 21' boat couldn't have done this run!

This years poker run was awesome. Can't believe how organized and well planned everything is. I was a banana hammock guy and best crew winner, but overall I am really happy that we helped raise over $1000 for those kids. It was well with it and thanks for donating. I am happy that it was a good outcome and people were good about the attire (I know your wives/girlfriends were). I can't wait to see you all next year and I hope everyone made it back safely.

I was talking to those guys and asking what they are doing next year. Tuxedo's are a(not so good) option! Keep planning boys...and defiitely get the chicks involved next time.

Also, the home port on the boat was "Slut Parlor." Explain please!

Dude, looks like a 4.5 blade unbalanced  wheel, but the secret is the skeg was bumped too ! can't believe no one noticed at the :drink:Tipsy, guess that explains the oversight. PS start posting some of your other photos please

SS930 08-15-2011 02:03 PM

You couldn't even see the bottom blades on the wheel while it was in the water, how could anyone see the skeg???

BTW, he tossed the blade in 70 feet of water, he didn't hit anything. The skeg didn't get bumped, it got sliced... by the tossed blade! There's no damage on the leading edge or on the bottom of the skeg, but it's sliced about a 1/3 or the way up like someone took a knive to it and bent the bottom part around! Amazing!

EXACTLY what happened to me 3 weeks ago...

Glad Gerry got a prop! I was ready to pull mine off and give em to him to run! OL stepped up and got him going.

Great times everyone!

You may be absolutely correct. Did you happen to see the photo of the skeg ? Big things do float in 70 ft. of water, but your conclusion seems eruptible as well as most likely. Especially considering the prop. material and the load forces on it. I will have to agree. Maybe it's time for forged wheels ! :picard1: $$$

It's not how fast you go, it's how long you go fast!

And the fourth boat to the card stop was a non stepped, non padded, non beaked, old schooled single engined SUTPHEN. Good thing my big brother WALTER was not there with his 39.
