I use Kurts in Mantoloking. I'm real happy with the service and performance on my new engines. Dave Sr. did a great job on my race car engine SBC 1100hp but I had him do a 468 rebuild and it went south after only a few hours. I'm not knocking him just don't know if he does alot of boats? Sometimes things just happen.

Default engines

Skippy at MRD on long island. Guy is old school cool, straight, and knows his stuff. Always takes the time to answer any questions you'll have, etc. - customer service is a dying art form - something I think is very important.

The only guy I use for engines is Larry leifert in torrington CT.

He has done alot of 331 GT1 and trans am engines through the years and those things were making 780 HP N/A taking a beating at high RPM and making more HP than anyone else in the class for along time.

He has a great reputation and has done alot of boat engines, drag race engines etc. He does all my turbocharged pontiacs at almost 1000 Hp they live for years with 2 bolt mains and cast cranks!

Its all in the proper machining of the engine, that and not detonating them. You kill anyones enegine if you detonate them.
He has been taking on less and less engines and has turned some guys away because he is crazy busy, but at least hes honest and doesnt lie to you take your stuff and let it sit there. If he is too busy or doesnt like the project for some reason (poorly matched parts etc) he'll tell you day 1!

Paul Newman used to go to him for years and he had the money to go anywhere he wanted paul won and placed second at alot of races while in his late 70's with larrys iron under the hood.

His number is 860-482-4533
