Weekend Plans

Innerage it is about 15 miles, it is only 8 miles fro the ct river to plum gut. Plum gut is the only tough part it is not long but can get nasty, I used go through with my 22' checkmate. Pick your day and you will be fine. Once you turn to the inside of LI it is protected and relatively flat all the way to Claudios

Brian, as long as the wind stays down (check the forecast carefully) you'll be fine. As stated, Plum Gut can get nasty if the wind and tide are working against you. It's only about a 3/4 mile area or so (guessing) you need to worry about... but I've wondered if I was going to be meeting my maker coming through there on a bad day in a 18' boat and it wasn't a good feeling. As a general rule, I look at the conditions coming out of the mouth of the CT river and then in my mind double the size of the water and that's typically what can/will be ahead in the Gut. Again, just watch the wind as it can kick up in the afternoon and make the return trip a handful.

I'm hoping to get everything back to put the boat back together by the end of the weekend, so I'm likely out until the weekend of 6/25-6/26 and even then I have plans I cant get out of for 6/25.
Although, I better be out for the week/weekend of 7/1!!!

Justin/Pat,
If I get everything back together and TESTED, I might be interested in swinging up there as I'll be off. We'll see. I just want to make sure everything is all set before heading out of state, if you know what I mean.
