The largest and easiest ramp to use is the public ramp in Old Saybrook (5 minutes away). There's also a ramp in Clinton (about 5 minutes in the other direction), but it's a little smaller, but fine for a 22' boat.

There are plenty of places to go and see in the area. A lot of us hang out together, we even have a little Mass-hole that hangs with us every so often. :D

What are you looking to do? Sight seeing, bars, food, rafting??? When are you heading down?

Rafting, drinking, boat watching ... headed down the week after July 4. Might leave it down there for a couple weeks and just blast down on the weekends . Just looking for some different scenery

the most common hang outs are:

LONG ISLAND SOUND:

pavilion beach bar (old lyme, CT), claudios (greenport, ny), sag harbor (LI), port jeff (LI), thimble islands, montauk (LI), etc.

CT River:
Gris and Seal (Essex), harbor park (middletown), gaelston house, blue oar, back porch (old saybrook), hamburg cove

I might have missed some.

Sounds like the guys have you fairly well filled in (although I might add Bill Seafood in Westbrook), but I do want to warn you... Dont hurt yourself laughing if you happen to see a Stuphen with a giant greenhouse/windshield attached to it. :drink:

P.s. posting everywhere that I'm hunting for a 24' super or Pantera ( I/o ) without power or junk power to put all my shht into. Ill pay a finders fee of cash or a lot of alcohol. My budget is 10 k or less

I use to see a lot of 24 SB's pop up on CL when I was looking, most seemed to be located on LI... so keep an eye on CL.

A few months back there was a 24 SB on CL in LI with a 502 for under 10K
I dont think it had a trailer.

There were also a few 26 sutphen rum runners over there too.

havent seen any panteras I can recall especially in that price range.

Ya I hunt c.l. LI seems like most of the supers are o.b.' s. I must have missed that 502 io. I also hunt Miami c.l. for the Pantera. Idk. I know exactly what I'm looking for and am not goin to get rushed up, if I have something by Sept ill be good.

If your boat is around 22' you can launch at Dicks Marine or Pier 76 both right on Route 1, just make sure you launch and retreive at high tide. Duck island is a nice place to anchor and hang out protected breakwaters, unfortuanely you can no longer go on the island Bird Sactuary. As said before:

Bills Seafood has a dock watch the seagulls.
Pavillion is about a 1/2 hour run over great bar with water taxi.
Greenport is across the way but the sound can get nasty in the afternoon and provide for a rough return.
Clinton harbour is a nice ride thru

Anyone got any feedback on ' fantastixvoyage' Pantera 24' 3 man race boat? Its not ideally what I was looking for .... no back seat. But I can get a very reasonable price on it. No motor or drive. Figure ill dump a couple gallons of black awlgrip on it, swap all my shht into it and beat it good. ?????????????????? Might fly to Detroit this weekend to check it

sounds like you found your boat but this was a nice ride for someone. even has a nicely expandable twin turbo set up , can the draw thru crap and go DFI blow thru and youd have a bad azz boat.

Think this 24 I'm goin to look at will be a fun build. And in the end I think ill have a pretty b.a. boat on the cheap. I plan on upgrading my OSO membership so I can post build pics!!!
