Hi Everyone,
I am Michael's daughter. I want to thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart. It means so much to my brother and I that there is a tribute to my father on this blog. I did not know he blogged, but not surprising that it was a boat blog. It was his passion, his one true love.
Yes, there is a lot of crap out there about him and the accident. But what helps ease the pain of this tragic event is the comfort in knowing there are good hearts out there who knew him, met him, befrinded him. To see your posts, your pictures, your caring words, means more than you will ever know. I grew up with my father taking my brother and I out on the water. The majority of my childhood memories were on the water. He taught me to embrace the speed on the water, because he got a thrill from it. It was his bliss, his haven, his place.
He knew his boats. He was like a boat surgeon, always taking them apart, seeing the beauty in an old boat and transforming it into something beautiful. He loved taking us out around hingham, cohasset and scituate harbor. His version of hospitality was not inviting someone to his home, but rather a ride on his boat. He had so much pride, because he worked so hard putting them together and making sure he had all the right parts.
Of course, you all know more of his knowldge and experience with boating. I want to let you all know that if you ever were in contact with my father, you were his friend.
I have seen a few comments about a tribute Fund Run for him, or a ceremonial ride in his honor. I would love to participate in this. Anything that you come up with, please contact me through email and I'll do all I can to help organize it, it's what he would want.
Anything postive you can take from interacting with him, keep it and never let it go. My brother and I hold his spirit alive and hope you do as well.

Very sad and tragic. There are a lot of us that share that kind of passion and love for our boats, boating, and good friends. I know his friends and family are devastated by his death, but God took him while he was having fun. RIP

im working on a piece right now for us who knew mike to have him roll with us everyplace. keep us safe.
im thinking that im going to try to sell them at my cost plus maybe like $2 and donate the extra to the charity of mikes kids choice.
i have a great idea and im working on it. im hoping it comes out great.

i left an envelope with the cards tonight. please let me know what you think. i thought the design fit your dad and i know a lot of people here on oso would be proud to carry his name on there boats. please keep in touch. i also have a few ideas for a run for him. im thinking next summer and i will try to do all the leg work for this. i may not have a "go fast" boat next year as i am in the market for a 33 formula ss but if you would like to ride along with me, you and your family are welcome. we will be in touch
