Sept 24th run
 

Since were not fully ready to do the round LI race I figured we'll get a few guys together and do a LI run. We'll start in Old Saybrook, run across to Greenport to idle by the Maritime Fest then head up Peconic Bay. We'll go through the Shinnecock canal and either over to Oaklands or Mariners Cover for lunch depending on accomodations. Depending on time we'll catch the round LI guys running through the gut or the south side of the island. After we can head out and play in the ocean through the canal or head back round Shelter back to Saybrook. We'll meet up with a few more guys from the Hamptons out there. As of now myself, John 51 OL, Brian 33 Sutphen, and Shaun 33 Sutphen are in. The guys from the Hamptons should be a 43OL and a few Cigs. Anyone else is more than welcome to join if they dont do the Pavillion thing. If no one else is interested I'll run the LI race!:D The annual Claudios run will happen in October when everyone can meet!!

So now on the 24th we have:

Pavilion Poker Run
LI Race
Greenport Maritime Festival
Dan's Mystery Run

Oh, and maybe 20-30 performance boats in the area that might be out that day...

That sounds like a good idea Dan, add another potential event or run to further dilute all the other events going on that day. Good call! :lolhit:

I had this planned before the stupid pavillion run was moved and it involves the other two as well.

It would have been nice to at least check out one of these events but I have a wedding that weekend and I am in the wedding, so can't fake the stomach flu.... :party-smiley-004:

Were putting in at the Old Saybrook ramp. Id say we depart at around 10:30-11 so we'll end up at Oaklands right around lunch time.

Correct Matt. Due to the 60-80% chance of rain tomorrow we have decided to reschedule to the following weekend. How does everyones schedules look for those days? It could be either day. Hope everyone is able to make it next weekend as well. This weather sucks!

Hey Dan Saturday is better for us.

Right now the run in scheduled for Sat this coming weekend. Hope to see everyone down here. Basically did the run yesterday and it's a nice run!

If they are leaving out of the CT river, I'm sure they will be using the OS public ramp... it a great ramp with lots of room.

Yes the launching ramp in Old Saybrook under the Rt 95 Bridge.

Ok. This is why I asked that question. I took a ride down there
today to check out the area. The Baldwin Bridge ramp is totally clogged
with huge logs and debris. I have never seen a boat ramp in that
condition. I don't think I could have launched my Donzi there today
I'm talkin tree sized loggs. I would like to go on your run with u guyz
butt I wouldn't be able to keep up the sound is BIG, but you can see LI like u said. Soo,,,,,,,, I will be at the ramp to lend a hand
or just check out the boats. Not sure if the lumber is gonna
clear away butt I'll bring waders an help clear debris. What time
are u guyz plannng on Saturday???

I've been launching down there the past two weekend and it has been fine as long as you drive your boat on and off the trailer. The debris is bunched up on each side of the ramp blocking the two side docks. About Saturday, now theyre saying 80% chance of showers and nice on Sunday. We'll make a call tomorrow.
