Truth on Lake Winni Noise Regulations
#41
Hey Noyzee,
Haven't been in the area at all this summer as I have the boat up in mid-coast Maine. I should be back on the Northshore by Labor Day I hope.
Feel free to chase us down next time you see the boat. We tend to spend more time under way rather than the raft up scene. But always nice to meet new boaters.

The way you talk it's like your on the water all day at WOT.
5Hours at 70 = 350 miles = 240 gal gas = $960
Either your super wealthy

Wow, first time I have ever been personally attacked by a complete stranger. Let me try and right a wrong. It is so hard to gauge intent/emotion on these forums.
Anyhow, my observation and my opinion only, was that there is a small segment of hi-po winni boaters specifically (not all boaters on that lake) that own triple digit hardware with hour meters with hundreds of hours at idle. I personally know a couple of them by name. If that's how you want to spend your time in your boat, all the power to you. It is my opinion that those folks are probably more in the sport for the marketing/lifestyle versus the movement/mechanics of it all. Most likely the "super wealthy" or the ones with crippling boat payments trying not to run up anymore expenses. I also think there are some that fear salt water too. Like your boat is going to melt or something.
I bought my hi-po boat so I could run efficiently over large distances and do it with a gigantic S-eating grin on my face. My playground of choice runs from the Cape all the way to Saint John New Brunswick. So you can see that my idea of performance boating is a little different than someone who keeps his boat on Winni for the season or heads to the raft-up scene first (not that there is anything wrong with that). Next week I will be running around the Bay of Fundy from Eastport Maine with stops in Machias Bay and Grand Manan island to check out the whales and Puffin scene around Seal Island.
Am I on the water all day....whenever I get the chance.
At WOT all day...nope.
350 miles in a day...goals are good to have wouldn't you agree?
Super wealthy.....nope.
Boat once a month....it has happened...got to pay for these things.
Full of sh*t.....only after eating really greasy Chinese food.
Peace!

I have nothing against you, just don't know anybody that spends that kind of money on fuel every weekend. I'm on the water every Sat and Sunday having fun but not at wot and not cruising the channel, just enjoying the company of friends and blasting aruond for a little while to keep the fuel bill to a min.(500 a weekend and that's taking it easy).
Maybe I'll make it to the ocean one of these weekends before the end of the season. Have fun boating.

Good deal. Be safe out there no matter where you float your boat!
Back to regular programming.....
What was this thread about? Oh yeah, noise regs on the lake.
Sounds like you can get a ticket for being over the limit....because there is a limit.
Live Free or Die of being regulated to death.

i run up to wingi a lot. its a 1.5 hour ride stop to stop so thats a good ride for me. if i want to go more i go out and around cape ann and in the back way. then i plant myself there till sunday. i like to drink and party and my boat is the best way to get me there. lol
yesterday we went out into boston then shot across to kettle cove. it was a couple hours of boating and a half tank of fuel but fun.
i enjoy the boat for sure and the party as well. just not mixing it and thats why i stay out.
winni is fun but just not my cup of tea. lots of rules (which are made to be broken) lots of cops, and lots of in experienced boaters which turns me off

Teckman said he goes from salem to cape cod canel to province town, thats got to be about 75 - 80 miles one way. Now that's a good ride. Maybe a few more people would get in on that ride.
