We are going boating once again !

As most of you know (3rd Sunday in Oct ) Oct 20 is the date .

Like last year the get together is a bit different , launch where you want (Pete be posting a list of sites from Old Saybrook north to Hartford) and we will meet at a beach (just north of the Rocky Hill Ferry) at noon for pizza . We'll head north to Hartford around 2 pm and then back to wherever you launched from .

Who's leaving from old saybrook and what time? We're going to try and go should be good time?

ill be there in the gun .leaving from portland ct

Footwear is strongly suggested at the "beach" .
There is a 45 mph speed limit . This is not a race . Cruise and enjoy the scenery .
We must obey all No Wake Zones please . We got complaints last year . If you see a marina assume a no wake zone .
In the narrower parts of the river ie. near islands no more than 2 abreast and no overtaking .
Please give pleasure boaters (canoes , kayaks etc) the right of way and stay 100' away .
If you want to continue doing this let's try to comply .
Pizza will be at the beach around 12:30 , an air horn will sound when it arrives .
There will be a bucket for donations .
All proceeds go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation . Checks can be made to JDRF and are tax deductible .
$1700 was raised last year
Some people leave the beach and head north to Hartford and then head home .
Burgers and dogs at Haddam around 4 .

Some people will gather at No Anchovies Pizza (Kmart Plaza Cromwell) Sat night around 7

When the boats meet at the beach, are people rafting or beaching or both?

Both, bigger boats usually raft, smaller usually beach.

Meet up and leave Saybrook by 10:30 ??
It will be around 2 hrs to Rocky Hill with no wakes.

We are doing salmon river in haddam around 10am. I hope they haven't pulled the docks yet.

Sonic - I plan to launch in Old Saybrook @ 10:30am.

Salmon River is the best choice for larger (25' +) boats

our crew is really excited for tomorrow...launching out of chester ct around 9:40 to meet mr reed at haddam. wonder what the boat count is....

I heard boats are leaving old Saybrook around 10...

What a great time thats a nice part of the river, the pizza was very good hope they raised some money. And lots of great looking hardware. We anchored just below the old train track bridge by harbor park get to see all the boats.

Anyone have pics? I couldnt make it out today but my buddy kept sending me pics. Looked like some serious hardware out there

A friend of ours that rhode with us today is a photographer and got some GREAT shots of everyone. He'll send them to us and we can post them. I'm in iMovie now so I'll have a link up within' the hour

Yes what a great day you got some great footage we were right in front of you going up river under the bridge in the little Formula, all you Cig boys looked and sounded great.
