It's easy enough to do. You just find the right boat (carlson cvx) , locate a drive train from a salvaged boat, get the engine from an ex-drag car, mix in a few parts from swap meets. Drag all this stuff home and with a little thought and design you too could have a similar boat. As for the fiberglass work, hand lay-up and fabrication isn't as easy as "popping it out of a mold", but it came out pretty good. I'm sure you can go faster than me in one of your boats that cost more than my house, but I can have just as much fun in my "creation" for only $1400 bucks total.(but that's another story).
