Default Burns Ditch Is a Disaster

If there is anybody that is not aware Burns Ditch in Portage is an absolute mess. Hopefully noone keeps their boats in the water or on lifts. The water is up roughly 8' if I had to guess and there is probably not one boat without damage. Multiple boats have sunk already.

I was at lunch and overheard a guy telling the waitress about it. I drove down there and it is a complete mess. The restraunt on the east side of 249 is about ready to fall into the creek. Also all of the piers before the bridge are gone and boats are supposedly on the rocks right before the lake. I have never seen so much destruction in my life. The creek is probably flowing at 15 MPH at least.

I just got off the phone with Krazy Karl and he confirmed that at least 50 plus boats either totalled, sunk or both. He said there are about 15-20 boats on the rocks/ beach at the end of the ditch. Debris is everywhere. There are trees washed up all over up the shore around ogden dunes. Sounds like there are some serious floaters on the lake. Might want to rethink the Matey's / Pen run this weekend.

Yep, his boat is safely tucked away in a barn at one of the marinas. No worries! Now lets pray that his levies/ sand bags hold so he doesn't lose his crops! We got 11" of rain since Friday

I've talked to Mark a few times today, once just a few minutes ago, and he didn't know about the ditch yet. Will the lake be that bad this weekend? If we go North will it be better?

Sounds like there were some floaters from what I here, I have no real facts. There was alot of debris including 60ft trees that floated down the ditch.
