I agree leave the run out on lake michigan but still have the thunder run on the chain mid summer like it was in the past.... If people choose not to run the chain with their boats that is their decision..........There are plenty of big boats running the chain...... |
Whenever I leave Blarneys, I just take my time and idle all the way out to the main channel. On my 24 Baja years ago, I took off near where everyone else does, but found something big as it killed 3 of 4 blades and I had to idle all the way home. A few freinds have had similar bad luck. No matter what the water level is, I don't take that one chance....

Jeez, ive heard of internet boat racers, but never internet board member wanna-be's....I go to almost every meeting now....heck, im a newby in this group of guys but everyone there listens to any suggestions myself or the other new members throw out there...To complain about how things are run without getting involved is sad. I dont even want to consider the amount of work that goes into some of these events. I live on the chain too. I would love a poker run every weekend, but mid summer weekends? Come on...one of you guys say it would promote our club, well 30 powerboats rolling up behind a fleet of rental waverunners that cuts in front of us could put our club on everyones sh** list. Safety first, lead by example, encourage others, respect follows, people notice, and the club will keep going strong.

Jr. No internet board member wannabe here facts have just been stated here! Its not a matter of how things are run its about doing more on the chain period. This club is mostly made up of people that boat on the chain including the commadore so me personally I would like to see more events/gatherings on the chain not on Lake Michigan where its hit or miss on whether you can go out or not. I have been on poker runs with the club on the chain in mid summer never a problem and has been done safely and with respect:drink: |
Why doesn't the club discuss this at meetings before your season starts? Do you require boat ownership to join your club?
We love the Chain, bikinis and beers! |
