We will be celebrating some birthdays per usual...Mrs. Obnoxus is on the 18th, BZ is the 15th, and I am the 16th. Special milestones this year...BZ is gonna be FIFTY, and I am gonna be FORTY.

Well...the nice thing for you is that Winthrop has a nice, big parking lot AND you have options for hotel rooms. So, you can do the same thing this year.

Is there a road to the marina that requires a permit and the cops hassle everyone? Someone was filling my ear about that last year but I was only half listening.

Yes. The only road in and out of Northpoint (7th street) requires a permit if the combined vehicle length is over 55ft. I believe. With that being said, I havent seen or heard of anyone getting a ticket in years. I traveled several times a week and weekends with my old boat (over 60 ft with truck) and never got stopped.

...until the local po-po get wind that a bunch of 55+ foot rigs are about to be rolling into town...then CHA-CHING!
