It`s funny how those letters are so familiar were much better than what we have now with the P, so lets bring back what worked in the past for the fans to identify the classes better.

Makes a lot of sense, it allows the smaller Hp P5's a place to Start, I myself started in a small 24 that would not have a chance to race today, and puts the High Powered Blower Singles with the Twins together. It makes no sense that a 27/28 foot boats cant race 30' boats with 150 less hp. But to make 27-30' Boats Race Twin engine boats with 700 more horsepower and 8 to 10' longer. Wheres the logic. It is broke, now's the time to fix it. Theirs a lot of potential to have a huge turnout all season at every race, and not just race the races that suit your boat. Their is a lot of small boats that want to race that are not showing because they do not have a chance. Start with the smaller classes and work up, your loosing alot of boats to accommodate just a few, I am not the only one that feels this way, theirs a lot of racers expressing the same concern

These speeds seem pretty good but what about the twin engine V's that only run low 70's? Would you say they would have to put new engines in to go racing?

Lucky if you have twins and are in the low 70's your boat has a long shot of ever being a competitive race boat. But if thats what you have and want to go out and experience the thrill of offshore racing you would have to run in C class in Sharkey's example classes. I personally think Waterboy's class structure is dead on.
Smitty, many people have stated they like this kind of class structure, letters instead of P and the possibility of a true starter class. Is this something that you will ask the racer's and then vote on it at the meeting or are you sticking to the same class structure? If you want the racers input it would be nice to know what we were voting on before the meeting.If nothing is going to change then please tell me to stop suggesting ideas.

my only complaint with this new style sugestion is that why regulate the v-s from cats mandate a canopy for the 100mph class dosent seem fair and looses the run what you have instead of going back to spec built boats. THe sppeds are okay but like with lucky he's not competative in a boat that has been competative now its drop some coin on major upgrades and run or never have the opertunity to win. Also there is the chance that these same OPA racers will want to run with apba, then they have to change a set up to confirm with those rules. Along with the abc class to P class letter swap to me that would get old real fast. Not to make anybody mad but just some points that I keep seeing getting overlooked at the changes.

Lucky....if you are referring to the Great Adventure Boat, it belongs in P-4. That boat never belonged in P-5. It always kicked our A$$ES. it runs more than low 70s. Believe me. you dont need to build new engines. just add some punch to your existing powerplants..

Randy. Keep plugin. Yes we will vote on everything. I do feel we should show some consistancy, but if there is a change that will help the classes grow we will do it. My only concern with splitting the P5 class, is we finally have a large group there. All of them run well over 70. I heard a lot of rev limiters in Camden. Who would run P6?

Eddie I totally agree with you and Mark.I have been trying to get that point across without alot of succes,hopefully it will change.
