Quinlan,
Go to the website and get in touch with Kitty or the board. I don't know exactly what the course is yet or what location you will benefit from.

Well for the best seats in the house and to actually be in the "movie" why not work the patrol as a patrol or med boat. There are also spots for course set, and turn boats. Depends on the type of vessel you have.

Nothing beats it, nowhere, nohow, noway,,,, NOTHING.

See you on the water,
KP

If anyone is looking for accommodations, most places up there are starting to fill up.

A friend runs a place that has some nice and big log cabins right near Hillcreek Marina which is further north from the race course at Sugarloaf. If you're so inclined, they supposedly will sleep up to 10 people and are fully outfitted with washer/dryers, full kitchens etc. They are supposed to be really nice.

She's going to resend some pictures she took for me and I'll post those when she does.

They are going for $500 for the weekend of the race. Most motels (most are motels in the area) are $75+ a night with the nicer places going for more like $100-$125 so once I considered that, these cabins are priced right in there.

You can contact the realtor directly at 501-825-7002 or call Lisa at 501-258-9402. She and her husband Doc are managing it.

I'm not sure if any of our crew will be staying there now as it looks like plans may change and we may be brining up a TT and parking it at some friends place nearby.

If you call Lisa, tell her Jim sent you. I don't know the realtor so the realtor won't know who I am except that I'm friends of Lisa and Doc. And no, I'm not getting anything from it.

I'm not sure about ramps, I know recently several were closed due to high water - not a problem we're used to around DFW!!

The only ramp I'm familiar with is the Narrows Park (Corp Park) which is at the Narrows. Lacy's Marina is right across the street and across the bridge by water. We usually put in at the park and slip at Lacy's. Both are at the Narrows which you can see on a map, is the narrow part of the lake between the 2 big sides. From Lacy's you'd pull out and head under the bridge, head west then follow the lake to the left/south and the race course is not but a few miles from there.

At the park there are 2 ramps. If you end up using them, this wil make sense once you see it. As you come around to the ramps, you'll be stopping, then backing down to your left. Both angle off the road. Use the 2nd ramp, not the first. Some trailers may be OK, but anything over 24-25' I'd recommend only using the 2nd ramp. Even mine will hang on the 1st ramp as you start to back. It has a crest at the top of the ramp that may hi-center your trailer. The 2nd ramp (closest to the bridge) is great!

We usually park the trailer (or truck and trailer) at Lacy's back across the HWY. There are no docks at the park so you'll need to use Lacy's or across the water at the Narrows Inn where they have a small courtesy dock.

Unless some have added it since last summer, there is only 1 marina that sells premium gas on the lake and it's further north on that west side where the course is, although I can't remember the name. It may be Hill Creek.
