From what I understand, Outerlimits had a bad start but then led Evolution for a while before losing an engine. Unfortunately, the Fountains and Skaters had not entered the race which I hear was very very rough. The estimates of wave height on one part of the course ran to over 18 feet! |
That is what we heard it maybe wrong. The older Fountain we heard was the rudder boat and that it broke off and they almost lost it. The new boat just left the states on Friday for the next race.

They didn't race today (too rough) but put on an impromptu speed trial that was run into Valletta harbor. Guess they didn't want to disappoint the spectators. Each team that competed received ten points. Team Outerlimits won in Evolution and Extremeracing (Dragon 39) won in Super Sport. clearly Mike Fiore is out to sell boats, hummmm, what a concept being the president of a major boat manufacturing company. Racing one other boat manufacturer doesn't sell boats. Competition sells boats or cars have you ever heard of NASCAR. Do you think that the ceo of G M would put any effort in nascar if ford was the only other manufacturer racing? Racing is supposed to be fun, Racing one other boat isn't fun. it's just a joy ride with 20 other boats around you. |
