This is precisely why so many folks have stood down from this sport. Business or not it should be fun, the effort should be focused on the process toward the race.

Such energy and resources flapping in the wind.....

I really don't agree with this. I think that the major component as to why Racers have come and gone over the years is much deeper and centered around splintering of sanctioning bodies, rules that obsolete equipment and and administrative bodies that favor certain racers and manufacturers over others.

Wish it was as simple as personal attacks over the internet, we could all get past that.

I personally know alot of folks who have stood down from all the racing bodies due to differences. Differences aren't always a bad thing,,,, its what drove the original racers, Aronow, Fountain etc....
The internet has nothing or next to nothing to do with it.

Having worked in the trenches to put on races I know it is a labor of love, Love of the sport, love of the competition and ultimately the comaradarie that everyone involved shares.
The long hours, expense and ultimate sacrifice some have made for this sport are mocked by the nitpicky personal attacks that are launched by those who have little or no other way to "express themselves".

Survival means that movement is inevitable... forward in the process is the preferred direction!!

See you on the water,

I appreciate the effort and will make my best effort to make the Orange Beach race. Its been a while since I've made an East coast road-trip, hope I don't forget the way.

Contact Kevin Cooper with popra, I believe it is no entry fees and $25,000 prize purse.

300 per boat on their website, we may even bring a few new ones down.
