OSS EXCITED TO PARTNER WITH LOCAL MARINE COMPANIES IN KENNER, LA. AND THE RACE FOR THE "OIL WAR" HEATS UP!
The First Al Copeland Memorial Race this weekend will feature help from local marine dealers and service providers. Greg Bent from Bent Marine in Metairie, LA is supplying three Fountain paceboats and a course set boat to work with OSS's chief starter Jim Koert as the race course is set up on Lake Pontchartrain for August 3 and 4th, 2008.
Thomas Marine owners Sam and Joan Kimbrough are bringing in a Sunsation powerboat for media and VIP tours, as well as a course set boat to assist with buoy placement . Thomas Marine has been in Gonzales, LA since 1956.
Mark Boos of Precision Marine in Kenner is providing a 150 plus M.P.H. Skater to allow VIPs and media to experience a race-like experience. Mark has also been assisting John Brunner, OSS operations director with the permit process.
The battle for supremacy between the two oil company sponsored OSS Cat Lites rages on in Kenner at OSS's fourth race of the season. Amsoil's Bob Teague and Paul Whittier are challenging Lucas Oil/Team Pepper's George and Mike Stancombe for the checkered flag. Everyone is invited to visit their favorite team in Race Village at Laketown Park starting Friday at 10:00 a.m.
The Radisson New Orleans Airport Hotel will host the OSS two-man simulator/dunker testing for all racers. Cody Unser's scuba diving program for U.S.Military disabled veterans will be unveiled on Friday alongside the OSS Angels.
