Everyone on the GEICO team is excited and welcomes the turbine boats coming to race. Anyone who remotely concerned about us needn't worry....our Piston powered brothers have done and will continue to do a great job of keeping us on our toes.
Unfortunately for us only a few will ever truly understand the commitment and trust to your teammate, team and safety crew it takes to sit in the cockpit of these boats at the amazing speeds they run. Knowing once you get in in there is a very high likelihood you won't get out. My true racing friends will agree. It's just so easy to armchair throttle (qb) when discussing extreme. it's quite another to glance out your window at Jeff,Dave, Mike(s) or JT at 156 in the apex of a turn knowing it's ALL on the line...and running next to you are the most qualified there is in a big cat at these speeds.
The next steps and stages for Miss GEICO are in the works and will push speeds to new levels on the racecourse thrilling fans like never before. Scott and I tested our Mystic on Thursday and will be logging many hours over the next several weeks familiarizing ourselves with it's awesome power. We would like to see straight away speeds comfortably in the 200's on days where conditions are appropriate.
We welcome any racers to join us during testing in Miami (big or small). just let us know
