Default Boats

Hello guys. Just getting started in this and want to know a little more aboiut the racing aspect of it. My pleasure boat is a 1995 Hallett 300. Not a race boat. I want to start racing and you guys seem to have a series closer to me than anyone else. I am in Charlotte. What kind of boat would you guys recommend to start racing with. Is there a class that OSS has for begining drivers or new drivers who want to learn?

If I can not find a race boat can I turn a high performance boat into a racer? Look forward to your responses.

Yes you can. And of course the money you spend doing that will depend on the class you want to run in. In the classifieds there is a raceboat for sale section and Misc. V and cat sections. You might find something there.

I would highly suggest getting ahold of Chris Riendl and leasing a seat in one of his V24's for a race or two. It would be alot cheaper than buying and maintaining a boat, and Chris would be a wealth of knowledge in getting started. Several racers have started in one of these boats before moving up. The boats are very safe and there is something to be said for showing up at a race, racing, and then going home. No breakdowns, engines, drives, or anything else to worry about. I know that he will have at least one spoy available at the upcoming races.

If you are interested, PM me and I will get you his information.
