I knew it was going to be good but didnt know just how good. Guys if if you want to step up or down in a class you should look into this. The bang for the buck is increadable. Its more money than the F1 we came from but has safty with speed. This class should take off in a big way. We may not have biggest budget or boat out there but have the best friend in our class. Do the math and if your real good you might be able to run this class for free with a little help.

OSS Vee Lite was a blast... Randy's right (for once) our class is by far the most bang for your buck. Speed, safety, and GREAT friends. We at Team IMCO really had an unbelievable time in Biloxi, MS. And might I add that the Governor Hailey Barber told me personally that he REALLY wants OSS and all of us back. Anyone one out there that is interested in OSS Vee Lite call me or anybody in our class and we would love to have you come race with us.

Thanks to everyone who came out and I am looking forward to seeing you all again in St. Pete.

RonP was close on his estimate of $200K. I'd say you could find a boat for 50-75K used and in need of re-rigging.

I'll stick with P Class, Race/ Pleasure. Thats bang for the buck.

A new SVL boat from Phantom or Extreme, fully rigged, goes for approx $120,000 - that's more or less the same price as a new F1 or P4 boat with equal engine.

A new SVL hull, unrigged, goes for around 50,000

Used SVL boats did cost between $30,000 and $60,000 while they were avaible. Now, the market is wiped clean.

All in all, you can't beat the SVLs for bang for the buck and safety.

Randy and I have 2 2003 Kryptonite F1 boats and 1 1998 Kryptonite F1 boat. Will trade for SVL anytime.

In your world Maybe, but I can buy a Brand new Pantera, Activator, Joker, etc for Well below 100 grand and race F1 or build an engine and have the same set up for less than 80G and race P4.

....and I just happen to have a 29' Kevlar/Carbon Fiber Ventilated step hull ready for a deck !!!!!:D :D :D Dave

I think your race expenses are goin to be similar, whether you race F-1 or SVL. SVL in OSS may cost a bit more to enter, but there is some money to be made if you finish top three in SVL.

Wether you buy used or brand new, the final product will end up around the same cost if re rigging is neccessary.

I do agree that a F-1 boat, brand new, will cost about 100k maybe more, once your done setting it up to be competitive.

Unfortunately, F class is dying or maybe even dead and SVL is an awesome class to step into.

I know that would be my next step.

So, for now, its P class

I agree with Scott B, unless you can afford two boats the SVL limits you to a race boat only, I like P-Class RACE/PLEASURE
