Default Cambridge was awesome

On behalf of OPA, allow me to say THANK YOU to the CBPBA for running another awesome event in Cambridge MD this past weekend. This club is well seasoned at running offshore events and their productions are executed flawlessly. The weather was perfect, the accommodations at the Hyatt spectacular and the racing was competitive and exciting to watch. There’s nothing better than going to a city that welcomes the racers with open arms. This was the third year for this race and it’s just getting bigger and better each year.

A special thanks also needs to go out to Billy Mauff of WHM and Martin Sanborn of TalkOffshore.com for making the trek to Cambridge. Both of them were blown away by this venue and hope to see a National race come to town next year. Billy even grabbed a checkered flag while driving for Jay Muller’s JEM Companies entry in the PX class (but only because DF Young lost a motor) and TalkOffshore added another dimension to the event by broadcasting to the crowd watching the race and listening over the Internet.

Here’s a complete entry list along with their finishing order.

PX –
1st JEM Companies
2nd Extreme Motorsports
3rd DF Young

P1 –
1st – Traffic Light
2nd – Wazzup Racing Engines
3rd – Lightning Jacks
4th – AMF Offshore Racing

P2 –
1st – MOJO
2nd – Firewaterฎ
3rd – Unleashed – DNS – broken power steering pump

P3 –
1st – Xtreme – Mocean
2nd – WHM – Mini Me
3rd – Hot Licks
4th – Wazzup – Did not race for points.

P4 –
1st – Panther
2nd – LaveyCraft
3rd – Never Enuff
WHERE WAS AUGIE????

P5 –
1st – Papa Dukes
2nd – Sonic Boom
3rd – Reindl One Design
4th – Xtras Racing

Get ready for another OPA race in Camden NJ on October 8th and 9th. Look for details about the Camden race in a day or two as OPA is finalizing some exciting news that should draw a large fleet to this event.

The full story of the Cambridge race will be in an upcoming issue of Extreme Boats Magazine and can be listened to on www.talkoffshore.com at any time.

See ya in Camden!

I figured that was it. Jerry and Norm did well with that boat.
