The Camden Chronicals
#1
It rained like crazy today, yet 37 boats filled the pits with calls from a few more teams asking permission to arrive in the morning. The weather report now shows tomorrow as being cloudy, not rainy so with any luck, we’ll be good to go at 1pm, then again at 3pm. Remember to listen on www.talkoffshore.com starting a few minutes before 1pm EST if you can’t make it in person.
Just as amazing as the racer turnout with this weather was the volunteers captains. 32 boats signed up to support this race, and 31 captains were represented at the meeting, even in the DOWNPOUR rain. That’s dedication!
It was announced at the driver’s meeting that in 2006, OPA will run a combined series with the Blue Water/Great Lakes Silver Series in order to bolster the P classes. It was discussed that OPA would also probably extend its classes to offer F1 and F2 racing.
Smitty went onto say that OPA/Blue water would also run three combined races with the Offshore Super Series, Cambridge MD being one of those three combined races. This was all exciting news, but we need to get through tomorrow first.
Here’s the list of boats that have registered so far.
