There are ? marks on a few dates. I think OPA has more places interested in having them than they can accomodate. It may turn into a situation of "no dough, no show" If a site is serious, they are stepping up to the plate and writing a check and being put on the schedule.
If I were a site looking for OPA, I'd be sending a check quick before its too late

This might be a totally naive comment but wouldn't the races actually end up being safer if you went with average lap speeds? Seems like a vast majority of the accidents, crashes, etc are in the turns, correct? Wouldn't racers be more likely to not push-it/crowd in the turns if they were confident in the boat for the straightaways?

I may be slightly biased as I've always been into building performance motors, but my original plan (as this would be my rookie year) was to set the power/boat up to accelerate quick so I could afford to get out of it a little more in the turns. And still run the average lap speed.

Thoughts?

The GPS system can also show average lap speed. Come to the meeting and have your voice heard.

Others have commented that Average would be better than top speed also.

Thats right Sharkey, we have no intentions of improving the sport. We are just going to run it into the ground. I just dont understand. Thanks for the encouraging words. By the way what is the name of your potential team?

They are all not bad in that area. When we go to PT Pleasant, then the hotels go down the tube.

Can someone please confirm the date for the Point race is 6/24 - 6/25

I know there was some confusion that it was originally set for the beginning of the month?

Thanks

Smitty,

I think you may have taken something the wrong way...
You asked for any ideas to be presented.

That was why I didn't understand why this was going to be a closed meeting.
Then it was explained that the meeting was only to have a vote on the two items. As I stated, I agree in order to vote on these items you must be registered.
If you were looking for additional ideas, I thought they would be heard at the meeting. Then I believe it was stated that (if) there was time after the vote, "other things" would be discussed. No where did I ever say you were trying to run it into the ground.
I was just trying to help and understand what was going on.

Smitty, Have you not been receiving my emails???
With some potential teams contacting me via email or PM's with questions about the racing, I have been Carbon Copying my replies to You , Augie, and if it had to do with P-5, also I would forward a copy to the Class Rep Bruce Seroff. So far the only one to acknowledge those emails was Augie.
I have suggested to these people to contact you guys directly so that there was no misunderstanding in any interpretation of the rules.

PS
I may stand-in as a driver for a team and be present for the meeting. I need to look at my schedule....

Either way, Good luck and Safe Racing
