Super Bowl Saturday
Any boats interested in racing Ft Lauderdale Super Bowl weekend needs to contact SBI/APBA ASAP because only a limited boat count will be allowed.
I lot of preparation is going into this race...so if SBI/APBA has an accurate boat count it will go alot smoother.
First race will be saturday feb. 3rd at 1:30pm and second to follow ASAP , we have a window from 1:30pm to sunset. There will be activities on the beach all day , so the crowds should be huge. This is a great opportunity also to get some great network TV time .
You can contact me also at (321 693-0023) what ever is easier .

Re: Super Bowl Saturday
October 20, 2006, Key West, FL , The SBIP/APBA "Super Bowl Race, will be held on February 3rd , 2007 in Hollywood, FL. This will be our first point race of the season. In order to participate in the "Super Bowl Race" your boat must qualify by participating in the 2006 Key West World Championship Race. If you have any questions, or need any further information please contact our office at 305-296-6166, or email to [email protected]
What will it cost? Will SBI waive fees for OPA boats? Prize money?
What kind of "exposure" other than incidental swimmers and beach goers will SBI offer to race teams? Is this going to be televised live on a national network? If yes, What are the details?
Sounds like it could be a great event if it has live national coverage, but it also looks like it could be an expensive event for teams that travel with the hope of national exposure and find the reality much different than what was promised.
Please post some details.

Looks like SBI has a large boat count of about 16-18 interested boats based on responses in the SBI forum. How many OPA/POPRA/OSS boats will be allowed to attend? How does one qualify?

Re: Super Bowl Saturday
I believe 60 boats is the Max. for the race, and last count looks like about 35-40 boats so far . Fees havent change and they are what they are, and prize money will be the same as it always is... this is a National race.
Meeting are being held being of this week, and SBI/APBA will have more details very soon about the TV coverage.
