First off what a great show in town this weekend. I was glad to see the races brought back last year and was excited when I heard you guys would return this year. What an awesome weekend, one of my favorites living in town. Just a note to say it was nice to meet some crews on Saturday; peeps from On the Chip (thanks for the shirts you guys are OFF the hook ), Reliable crew for letting me get shots of the engine bays, The silver cat Ansel? crew and family (mom, pops, son, daughter), and the rockstars who gave us beer.
A special thanks to miss Geico crew, what a great sponsor for the event........you all had it hooked up right! John (with turbine marine) and the Assistant crew cheif (Brandon?) were great. I heard much about the Geico, it's recent Baltimore-Annapolis record and wanted to check out the boat up close. No problem with these guys, class act.
What happened to the Wicked Performance Cat? We saw it pull up to the beach.........like a beached whale to the amazement of everyone. I saw trooper 4 (medivac) flying but didn't land so I hope no one was hurt. It was pretty wild to see a boat charge the beach like that.

Thankfully, No One was hurt...
The hull delaminated taking on water. They beached the boat so it wouldn't sink. A crane will come in to lift it out of the water and place on the trailer. then a tractor will tow the trailer to the street
Not an easy task, considering access to the beach is limited.

I figured it was sinking, good to know no injuries. In one of my pics it looks like the front right cat on the inside? Hard to tell though.

A few from the actual race. On a side note the Wicked boat definately has a damaged hull. Wonder if it's a stress fracture or caused from a collision with something?
