I heard Reliable checked out and was running with the extreme boats. JD Byrider threw a blade.
And I think Whittier won. I do not know if that was final. pat W |
Hi Augie!
A lot of race fans asking about the God Father of the Jersey Boyz and miss you. This was another great Offshore Powerboat Race and everybody did a fantastic job putting this race together and all should be commended. United We Race was definatley proved today with all the Teams that showed up. Take Care Augie, we all feel for you. |
It was not a good day for Wahoo, on the far north end they rolled. Glassdave and Dean Wahoo ATV thankfully are ok, cosmetic damage from a distance (seemed) mild, hope that's the case.
Tom A's Reliable Boat was not in the same class as Bud and Geico. Tom took the checkered flag for the second year in a row. The Bud/Miss Geico race was the crowd favorite, up until the last few laps Bud had most of the lead, they would race neck and neck down the straight aways, but Bud had the inside position and would pull out in front on the turns. Eventually Geico found an opening and ran ahead for perhaps the last two laps. I can't wait to see the rematches these two team are sure to have. You could tell how much the crowd loved the Miss Geico team, the AMF clothing trailer was mobbed after the race, people were buying everything. Then in the middle of the street in the mob, Scott walks by us, I stopped to talk with him and in a second a bunch of kids mobbed him for his autograph. Afterwards Ian and I were laughing, here Scott is part of the biggest entourage in St Clair and he had to hoof it back to his base camp:D It was also great to see Traffic Light take the flag for the second year in a row, On the chips had a real wide lead for the first couple of laps but the Ed said after he burnt up some fuel he was able to catch up, of course OTC's spin helped Ed & Sean take it away. Val from Augies boat rode third seat with them, so it was JersyBoyz meat MI Mafia:D It was real nice to see Wanted place second. If you could have seen the boat on Saturday, by the time they got it to the lift, there was only a few feet of bow sticking straight up, almost the whole boat was under waters:eek: It is a true testament to team friendship I think almost the whole JersyBoyz crew was up well past midnight wrenching. St Clair was an amazing race, thanks to everyone that raced, that was on a crew, and those that worked behind the scenes to put on what is turning into about the best Offshore Race of the season. It was nice to see the United We race Shirts and stickers. |
Glad to hear they are ok, thanks for the updates.
