Its just racing.... We saw as much as seven mph difference in going upstream and down. Maybe at the end of the race after we burnt off some fuel me might have been able to break 85mph, but since we lost and Ignition module sensor on our second time down the backstrech, I guess we will have to wait until next year to see. I would like to be able to look at our data from "the little black box" to see what speed we did run. I wish it was more like the set up used in SBI with the Garmin's. Heck after the race they download everyone and then you can still download the info yourself and look at it on your computer so you can see what speeds were run and where you ran them. Personally I think all of this ought to be public knowledge for all the racer to see.

Until we broke it was a BLAST!! Ten boats in P4!!! The Start was AWESOME!!! Also the town, the racers, the everything in St. Clair was everything a race should be!!!

Now who in P4, Class 4 (whatever you want to call it) is going to come and try to beat us on our home course??? LOTO in September??? Like the Jersey Boyz say, BRING IT!!!!

I think the system is fine and I'm not questioning that. Just asking if that many boats breaking out is the "Norm" at a race.

Come to Point Pleasant NJ and race in the ocean, you know, the greatest of all the great lakes. The ocean is the home of Unable to Break Out Racing. The great equilizer, where a boats top speed doesn't mean as much as the size of the occupants balls.

I agree with Dave.We broke out too..and it is frustrating;but rules are rules! The OPA GPS system is accurate, and they are enforcing the rules just like all of the racers wanted them to.Good job OPA.

I carried a Garmin 60 csx with me and recorded our speeds and tracks. It's great to review how we ran and what speeds we hit on the entire course. You can also buy the software for the opa gps and see the same thing the race gods see.

As for Augie...........hope to see you in NY. They might need some lessons up there and you can show them.
