A 26 hydro 5 blade should put you also at 80 MPH unless you have big slip numbers. If you need props that big I have plenty of them from my F1 days that are to big for me now.

Randy do you have your own formula? I read the OPA rule book and it states the formula is: pitch X Limiter X .01(10% slip)/ gear ratio / 12.

Lets see, in this case you take 26 X 5250 X .01 / 1.5 / 12= 75.833333333333. The .8333333 is the reason I said to stare a hole thru the GPS. With my experience in a boat similar to Jim's I factor at full race weight(fuel on board) he should be able to hit in the mid 74's and be safe, but still have the acceleration to keep up with the 600-700 hp motors you guys run in Classes 5 & 6 up there, yes you being one the few exceptions I know.

If my memory serves me correctly(and of course I might be wrong) the top speed of your F1 was in Savannah @ 82.9? Isnt the limiter in the 525's @ 5400, that could explain how you were seeing 80(26 pitch) with about a 7-8% slip. By all means since you seem to have the no slip props in your arsenal, please bring them to Chat, cause the best I have been able to get is 6% slip out of my rig. That was a one time deal unfortunatly, I am still trying to get back to it.

With me going up to try and break my 86.5 mph F1 Chat Mile record, will you allow me to run in Class 5 or should I just bring a Class 4 setup

Your buddie!!!

Trent
