good point....I dont think it does.

PERFORMANCE CLASSES
DESIGINATION TOP SPEED NUMBER
Class X Up to 150 MPH X#
Class 1 Up to 115 MPH *** 1#
Class 2 Up to 105 MPH 2#
Class 3 Up to 95 MPH 3#
Class 4 Up to 85 MPH 4#
Class 5 Up to 75 MPH ** 5#
Class 6 Up to 70 MPH* 6#*

Performance Class 6 is designed as an entry level class. No boats over 26 feet in length and no boats with twin engines may compete in this class.
**The Performance 5 class is limited to boats 30 ft and under with single or twin engines.

I dont know what the rules state but I was told I had to run class 4 cause I had a canopy

I dont think there are any rules about canopy in 5. question is, Is it a 90 mph boat sandbaging in class 5? I know our old tub just cant get it done in 4 thats why we are in 5

i dont know your boat or you i am just saying most boats that run canopies are capable of higher speeds.

I've been beat by smaller boats many times, sometimes 8000 pounds lighter, that's racing! But big or small, ain't none of ya can beat me in cooking! Now there's a challenge for ya heater. Or, I could just cook and you taste. You in?
