Lightbulb St Clair Anniversary Race

Everyone,

This year the BWORA will be celebrating their 15th Annual Offshore Race. We have held many different sactioned events over the years to include: OPA, OSS, and The Silver Cup Series, and it now brings me to my point for this year.

I am trying like crazy to get everyone whom is racing this year, in town for the biggest event to date, to honor the men and women whom started the event locally, as well as for the fans, and also general fellowship. The following was posted under a thread called "Check this out":

St.Clair River Classic has been picked as the signature event in St.Clair County as part of a $550,000 National Marketing Campaign. Our Regional Tourism Bureau has won the 2009 Governor's Award for Innovative Tourism Collaboration. They will be advertising the hell out of this event, go to www.bluewater.org and check it out. In 2008 there was 1,715,119 hits on the website.

With all this said and the amount of promotion going into this event its going to be unbelievable and as race teams we need your support.

Personally I would like to see 100 boats in town for the weekend, thats my goal. It does not matter what org you currently race with or even if you have issues with others. We are all here for the same thing - "The love of the sport","the Support of the Fans". I am inviting everyone out ther to attend this year no matter what org. That being said it is scheduled as an OPA race and we can all race together under their guidelines. I can provide more info if needed.

That being said i am respectfully asking each and every race team out there to please put this years race, July 31st - Aug 2nd on your calendars, budget it in as a site you will attend and communicate to your sponsors the significance of this race.

All banded together we can accomplish this task and take our sport to the next level.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Also reply if you know if you are coming so I can start the count. I will be contacting everyone for space requirements.

Thanks for your time.

Respectfully,
Brian Kowalski

Congrat's to BWORA on their 15th Annual Offshore Race. It has always been a fan favorite over the years and they have put on one of the best shows around. This couldn't happen without the support of all the different Offshore Powerboat Racing Associations who have come and raced over the years and put on a fantastic show for the fans. This very well run race wouldn't be possible with out all the support from the sponsors, racers and volunteers, who not only make this event happen each year but they seems to make it bigger and better. Looking forward to seeing more teams coming to race this year at the St. Clair River Classic and experience this great venue.
