Keep in my mind those lists are made by people promoting the race, so some of it might of been more hope than anything, Some of those teams never intended on being there yet somehow made it on the lists, then the fans get disappointed and think teams bailed out, when in reality, they were never going to be there. Maybe only confirmed teams should be put on those lists in the future to keep expectations more realistic?

The list that are posted before any race is a wish list, you never know till race day.
37 boats isnt a bad field in todays economy, I think it is going to get harder and harder for a lot of teams to keep up if things dont get better SOON! I know its all we can do to complete a full 8 race schedule this yr for us. |
My guess is if you add the inflatiables and skiffs you are closer to 55 boats. There are also boats here not on Jeffs list.
